FAQs

How do I sign up for a Personalized Toenail Fungus Treatment Plan?
The process begins with a consultation, during which you’ll receive an assessment and a proposed treatment schedule for Onychomycosis (nail fungus infection). You can sign up during the visit and receive your first treatment right away – it takes about 25-30 minutes.
How does laser fungus treatment work?
Vino Med Spauses the clinically-proven PinPointe FootLaser system to target the fungus that lives in and under the nail. This type of infection is usually resistant to topical medications due to the location of infection. The laser light passes through the nail without causing damage to the nail or the surrounding skin. While most patients experience a visible improvement after a single treatment, repeated sessions enable the nail to grow back clearer and healthier over time.
How many treatments can I expect?
Results will vary from patient to patient. We’ve developed protocols over years of experience that enable us to structure a treatment plan that’s right for you. Most patients receive between 4-8 nail fungus laser treatment sessions in a 12-month period.
Is laser nail fungus treatment painful?
For most patients, it is virtually painless. Some may feel a warming sensation. An isolated few may feel a slight pinprick. However, there is no recovery period and patients can walk in and walk out upon completion of treatment.
How long does laser nail treatment take?
Your Vino Med Spaprovider will typically complete the procedure in approximately 30 minutes.
Will the nail fungus return?

Most patients report seeing an improvement after one procedure. However, there is a chance of reinfection because the fungus that causes Onychomycosis is present everywhere in the environment. In addition to your personalized laser treatment schedule, you’ll be provided with recommendations for the prevention of recurrence.

Is laser nail fungus treatment covered by insurance?
This procedure is considered aesthetic, and therefore health insurance plans do not provide coverage.
How long has PinPointe FootLaser been around?

Leading scientists and medical professionals working together for 20 years with funding provided by the National Institutes of Health developed the technology used in the patented PinPointe FootLaser. Clinical studies began in 2007. The FDA cleared its use in patients with Onychomycosis (nail fungus) in October 2010.
